Do you know why travelling relaxes us? Why people turn into a completely different person when they travel to new places ? They’re more open, joyful, adventures and positive during those days ,the secret is, because they know this excitement is temporary , so they want to live it to its fullest , even the difficulties they come across during those days are embraced with new spirit, with the idea of learning new experience.
I came across this saying of the Prophet ,which should be a foundation for the believers, it is narrated by Abdullah bin Umar,"Allah's Messenger PBUH took hold of my shoulder and said, 'Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler."The sub-narrator added,IbnUmar used to say, “If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death.”
There are many amongst us who are exhausted by the struggles and worries of this life , stress, anxiety, disappointments taking toll on their mental and physical health, this thought is suppressing that the dark nights are long , but if we begin to have a the vision of the world with the eyes of faith , we’ll feel a different level of energy, this very idea , that it’s temporary, this life and it’s trials are temporary, the darkness always ends , a new and bright day is promised by the creator, moreover we are travelers here,so have the spirit of a traveller in this wordly life , don’t let the idea of endlessness weigh your soul down ,as this is a huge trap .
Rumi had a very profound and clear idea about travelling “The sweetness and delights of the resting-place are in proportion to the pain endured on the Journey. Only when you suffer the pangs and tribulations of exile will you truly enjoy your homecoming.”
Indeed the eternal home of the believers is in the next world, believers or not , We are all returning back, the only difference is the believers will be living here eachday with purpose in the heart ,with the promises of hereafter and the non believers will always be dealing with the test of ignorance.
