The Friendship Pipeline is what it was dubbed by Iran, Iraq, and Syria as a way to bridge cultural divides which have far too often lead to wars and also to bring an economic boost to their respective countries. The United States has been steadfastly opposed to the Friendship Pipeline simply because it will benefit Iran and Russia. Those familiar with global politics would have expected the U.S. to try and prevent Iran, Iraq, and Syria from making a deal that would benefit Iran or Russia nevermind both, but actively contributing to destabilizing an entire region, forcing over 7,000,000,000 from their homes and killing nearly 900,000 via proxy wars with France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Jordan, Germany, Norway and the United States all to prevent a pipeline should be an international outrage.
As Americans we scoff at the idea that our country has anything to do with the war in Syria, the public was shocked last year when a Navy SEAL was killed in action in Syria. These aforementioned countries are clandestinely fighting as SDF who is at war with the Free Syrian Amry who is supported by Turkey with additional support from Ahrar al-Sham, Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra Front, Tahrir al-Sham, and Jaysh al-Islam trying to overthrow Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian Arab Republic who is backed by Russia, China, Iraq, Iran, Cuba and Hezbollah. I would like to remind my fellow Americans that we still call Turkey our allies even though they have allied themselves with known terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and the Al-Nusra Front.
The world should be outraged by this war and the people of Syria should be outraged that the world still calls this a civil war. This is a shadow World War, these global superpowers are choosing to wage war in a land that is not their own all under the facade of a civil war, all because of a pipeline called the “Friendship Pipeline”. In researching the Iran-Iraq-Syria Pipeline I realized that tensions between the U.S. and Iran were very high when this deal was first put together in 2010 the echo chambers from Iran nuculear deal were still ringing when the U.S. issued sanctions against Iran which caused the Swiss energy company Elektrizitätsgesellschaft Laufenburg to pull out of the Friendship Pipeline deal and the pattern continued in line with how close Iran, Iraq, and Syria came to making a deal for the pipeline not only tensions between Iran and the U.S. but the growing civil discontent in Syria is in line with Iran, Iraq and Syria saying they planned to sign a contract worth 6 billion in June of 2012 to construct a pipeline running from South Pars in the direction of Europe running through Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon then under the Mediterranean to an un-named European country. The refinery was planned to be built in Damascus, Syria with additional infrastructure.
This Friendship Pipeline would’ve been a staunch competitor to the Nabucco Pipeline that runs from Azerbaijan to Europe, but more importantly, it would’ve been an alternative to the Qatar-Turkey Pipeline that was purposed by Qatar to run from Qatar to Europe by running through Saudi Arabia, Jordan. Turkey and Syria. When Syria rejected the Qatar-Turkey Pipeline they publicly stated that it was to protect the interest of their Russian allies who are Europe’s number one supplier of natural gas. In early 2013 an agreement was signed to go through with the Friendship Pipeline the deal was worth 10 billion dollars. Most would be perplexed as to where the money came from when Iran and Syria at this time were under such heavy sanctions from the international community, but most are naive. Two years later Iranian energy company Pasargad Energy Development Company signed a Build-to-Operate order with Syria as skeptics of the deal remained convinced that Iran, Iraq or Syria would not be able to fund the Friendship Pipeline.
In my research for this story, I quickly realized this was not just about the Friendship Pipeline it was about the overall control of the entire Middle-East and it’s vast oil and gas resources. According to a memo obtained by retired NATO Secretary General Wesley Clark which is dated just couple weeks after 9/ and revealed the United States plans to “attack and destroy the governments in 7 countries in five years” starting with Iraq then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and grand prize would be Iran. In 2011 the private intelligence firms Stratfor and HBGary were hacked by Anonymous. Thousands of emails were released by Anonymous some these emails contained notes from a meeting between Stratfor operatives and officials from the Pentagon which confirmed the United States and the United Kingdom were training Syrian opposition forces in a clandestine elicit move to overthrow the Assad regime.
This article is not to defend the actions of Assad or his security forces rather inform the public that there are other factors at play here. Carla del Ponte told a Swiss TV interviewer, referring to the Asal, Syria incident, “This was used on the part of the opposition, the rebels, not by the government authorities.” Del Ponte was a member of the UN Independent Commission of Inquiry on Syria and a former war-crimes prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. After her initial statement, she and other members of the commission of inquiry stopped commenting. This same commission would later tell the world that Assad used chemical weapons on his own citizens. On August 29th, 2013 Yahya Ababneh who was a reporter on the ground in Syria published a report along with his counterpart Dale Gavlak a reporter with the AP that openly accused Saudi Arabia with providing the chemical weapons that were used in Syria on 21 different occasions. Shortly after publishing the story Dale Gavlak received a call at his office at the AP. Dale Gavlak was told to recant his story or “it would be the end of his career” three weeks later Dale Gavlak was fired by the AP. Yahya Ababneh actually got an audio tape of a Saudi intelligence officer meeting with rebels fighting to unseat Assad and also met with the father of a rebel fighter who was killed along with eleven other rebels while handling suspicious weapons in a tunnel. Some of the weapons were described as being a “tube-like structure” and others were describes as being a “huge gas bottle” Rebel fighters who were given these weapons were not told what they were or how to handle them, at least one of the attacks was not an attack at all, it was rebel fighters who mishandled Weapons of Mass Destruction they thought were mortars.
I can’t explain why the international community refuses to grasp the facts before their eyes, but the facts are all there, the truth is there. Mainstream Media and respected journalist are petrified of Saudi Arabia and all of the Kingdoms dirty deeds. King Salmon placed Prince Bandar in charge of unseating Assad and the United States publicly stated that this meant Saudi Arabia was serious about overthrowing Assad. “K” a female rebel fighter fighting to unseat Assad who Yahya Ababneh interviewed said the following: “When Saudi Prince Bandar gives such weapons to people, he must give them to those who know how to handle and use them.” How would this rebel fighter know Prince Bandar gave them the chemical weapons? It wasn’t just because it was the biggest open secret in the region, it was because the Kingdom dared people to ask about their dirty deeds, they threatened doctors at the hospitals treating victims of chemical attacks and told them not to talk to the press, we know this because the doctors themselves told reporters not to ask them “who committed the attacks?”
Saudi Arabia is opposed to the Friendship Pipeline because it will greatly benefit Iran, Prince Bandar even tried to bribe Vladimir Putin by offering him cheap oil and told Vladimir Putin “I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year (Succhi). The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us.” The IGAT-6 which is what the Friendship Pipeline is known as today is one of, if not the main reason for the clandestine World War in Syria. Saudi Arabia is providing support through Turkey, Ahrar al-Sham, Al-Qaeda and the Al-Nusra Front who are masquerading as the Free Syrian Army and are the real terrorist in this war committing barbaric acts on civilian populations. This is a war over natural resources, a war that is fueled by Saudi Arabia’s fear of losing its stranglehold on the region’s oil and gas markets, this is a war about blooming economies and dissolving Kingdoms and this war will not be the last time global superpowers kill millions of people and displace millions more for a natural resource.
